Juniper Square is hiring a Lead Site Reliability Engineer for its operations in India. In this role, you will lead the technical direction and architecture of infrastructure systems, balance reliability with scalability, and drive operational excellence. A typical day involves designing complex distributed systems, establishing service-level objectives, leading incident responses for multi-service issues, and acting as the directly responsible individual for major site reliability engineering projects. You will collaborate closely with engineering managers and product managers to scope roadmaps, enforce security best practices, and mentor junior team members. Responsibilities

• Own and drive the technical direction for team infrastructure systems, balancing reliability, scalability, and cost.
• Establish service-level objectives, monitor service-level agreements, and manage the reliability posture of team-owned services.
• Lead incident response for complex issues, debugging root causes and ensuring problems do not recur.
• Act as the directly responsible individual for medium-to-large site reliability engineering projects spanning multiple teams.
• Partner with engineering and product managers to scope roadmap initiatives and break down work into actionable increments.
• Define and enforce security best practices across all team-owned systems.
• Participate in and help lead the on-call rotation while ensuring production systems are properly instrumented.

Requirements

• 7 to 10 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering in a production cloud environment.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services covering compute, networking, storage, and security.
• 5+ years managing Linux-oriented production environments at scale.
• 5+ years using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.
• 3+ years operating and troubleshooting production Kubernetes environments.
• 3+ years applying AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
• 3+ years working with PostgreSQL in production, including performance tuning and recovery.
• Demonstrated track record of leading multi-person technical projects from scoping through delivery.

Good to have

• Experience handling model degradation, fallback strategies, and cost anomalies.
• Experience using AI-assisted workflows across the software development lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs or AI systems into production environments.
• Familiarity with agent-based or workflow automation systems for operational use cases.
• Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
