Springboard is an online education and workforce development company dedicated to closing critical skills gaps through mentor-led programs in fields like data science, coding, and AI. As a Product Engineer at Springboard, you will join a human-centric team focused on helping students transition into new careers. Rather than simply executing pre-written specifications, you will collaborate closely with internal business and operational teams to identify problems, design solutions, and deploy working products from start to finish. A typical day involves partnering with stakeholders to analyze workflows, building full-stack applications, integrating Generative AI capabilities such as LLM tools and RAG, utilizing AI-assisted development practices, and iterating based on real-world feedback to improve learning and operational outcomes.

- Manage features completely across the data model, backend, frontend, and deployment
- Develop GenAI-driven features like LLM integrations, agents, and RAG to enhance outcomes
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools by default during the software building process
- Maintain system reliability through robust testing, code reviews, and production support
- Communicate project scope, progress, and trade-offs clearly to non-technical teams
- Lead ambiguous multi-stakeholder projects and mentor engineers at the senior level
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of professional industry experience
- Strong full-stack capabilities including Python/Django for backend and React, Angular, or Vue for frontend
- Proficiency in SQL and data modeling
- Production-level experience deploying and operating services on a major cloud platform like GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Hands-on GenAI experience building features using LLM APIs and daily usage of AI coding tools
- Demonstrated history of shipping end-to-end products by gathering requirements directly from users
- Clear communication skills tailored for non-engineering stakeholders
Good to have
- Experience with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, particularly Canvas
- Knowledge of BigQuery, analytics pipelines, or event instrumentation tools like Segment
- Experience with agent frameworks or MCP
- Background in refactoring complex systems or monolith decomposition
Who should apply
This role suits experienced full-stack engineers who enjoy taking ownership of entire products rather than just completing isolated tickets. Ideal candidates thrive when collaborating directly with business operators and are passionate about applying Generative AI to solve complex educational challenges.
