Software Engineer - India
About this job
Dscout is growing its team and looking for a Software Engineer to help build its flexible UX research platform. Dscout creates tools used by top brands across finance, healthcare, consumer goods, and technology to help teams understand the humans behind their products. Building AI-native products introduces unique challenges because the same input may not produce identical outputs, requiring engineers to design experiences that remain trustworthy, reliable, and user-friendly. In a normal day, you will take ownership of end-to-end product delivery, partner directly with product and design teams, build web app flows and dashboards, integrate LLM-based features, and collaborate closely with AI-focused engineers. You will solve ambiguous problems, talk to users directly, and focus heavily on user experience, edge cases, and overall product craft.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of product features from ambiguous problems to shipped software.
- Partner with Product and Design to help define what features should be built.
- Build product surfaces like web app flows, dashboards, and in-product controls.
- Integrate LLM-based features and agent outputs into real product flows.
- Talk to users directly and use learnings to drive design and prioritization choices.
- Ship fast, instrument your work, and iterate based on real usage.
- Collaborate with AI-focused engineers on model and agent tuning.
- Focus on craftsmanship including interaction design, edge cases, and error states.
Requirements
- 2 to 7 years of software engineering experience shipping full-stack product features.
- Comfort working across both frontend and backend stacks.
- Track record of taking vague problems and shipping real solutions without a fully scoped ticket.
- Genuine empathy for users and an understanding of user goals.
- Working fluency with LLM-based systems, APIs, prompting, and non-determinism.
- Strong product judgment to reason through technical and product tradeoffs.
- Comfort using design systems independently for smaller UX decisions.
- Familiarity using AI coding tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot in your workflow.
Good to have
- Experience building product features on top of conversational or voice AI.
- Familiarity with LLM observability or evaluation tooling.
- Experience partnering closely with UX research or qualitative research teams.
- Direct experience talking to users or running lightweight user research.
Who should apply
This role suits engineers with two to seven years of experience who possess strong product ownership skills and a high sense of agency. Ideal candidates are comfortable tackling vague problems, care deeply about user empathy, and have practical experience building features on top of modern LLM-based systems. If you have a bias toward shipping fast, enjoy collaborating across product and design, and want to help shape AI-driven UX research tools at Dscout, you should consider applying.
