Cyberhaven is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help drive and evolve their product by owning and extending their on-endpoint network proxy solution. In a normal day, this role involves intercepting and manipulating third-party software network traffic, hooking or redirecting outbound connections, terminating and re-establishing TLS sessions, and applying real-time content-aware policies. Engineers also build low-level collectors, solve difficult performance optimization challenges to monitor massive event streams with minimal impact, and design secure, reliable, hardened software capable of processing untrusted data safely.
Responsibilities
- Hook or redirect outbound connections and manage TLS sessions
- Apply real-time content-aware policies to network traffic
- Add low-level collectors to trace data flows across apps, files, sockets, and pipes
- Solve performance optimization challenges for high-volume event monitoring
- Design and build highly reliable code that protects the end-user experience
- Build secure-by-design hardened software to withstand real-world attacks
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in systems software, networking, proxy, or security engineering
- Strong depth in network interception and low-level systems
- Proven track record in network interception and parsing
- Prior work on at least one forward proxy used by security software
- Experience debugging, profiling, and optimizing low-level system software
- Proficiency in designing and implementing application architecture
- Experience with agile development and SCRUM
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a distributed cross-functional team
