Ascend, a fast-growing premium travel company backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, is hiring a Travel Consultant with Sabre GDS experience. Ascend helps founders, investors, and senior executives book international business-class and first-class flights at discounted rates, providing round-the-clock support. In this remote, full-time role, you will focus on post-booking fulfillment rather than sales. A normal day involves taking over confirmed bookings after the ticketing team issues tickets, verifying passenger and reservation details, building complete itineraries, preparing FreshBooks invoices, verifying payments across platforms like Stripe or bank transfers, and coordinating extra services such as airport transfers and seat assignments via Periskope. You will ensure every detail matches accurately, maintain updated records, and deliver polished service to high-profile travelers.
Responsibilities
- Manage confirmed airline reservations and post-booking details using Sabre GDS.
- Build accurate, client-ready travel itineraries and update trip records.
- Prepare and review client invoices using FreshBooks.
- Verify and reconcile payments received through Stripe, bank wire, PayPal, or crypto.
- Communicate professionally with premium travelers via Periskope.
- Coordinate additional travel services like chauffeur transfers and special meals.
- Ensure passenger, booking, invoice, and payment data match across all systems.
Requirements
- 1 to 2+ years of professional experience in travel operations or airline reservations.
- Hands-on professional experience using Sabre GDS.
- Experience with PNR management, flight reservations, and post-booking support.
- Experience creating or managing invoices using FreshBooks or similar billing tools.
- Experience verifying or reconciling payments through card, bank transfer, or digital platforms.
- Strong attention to detail across multiple travel, CRM, and billing systems.
- Strong written English communication skills for interacting with clients.
