Build AI acts as a data hyperscaler for Physical AI, integrating hardware, manufacturing, logistics, collection, and model training to scale physical labor datasets rapidly. As the Head of Operations, India at build-ai, you will lead the charge in establishing and running the company workforce across the country. The role demands intense operational rigour and long hours. A normal day for you involves mobilizing large workforces within a short window of 24 to 48 hours, hiring and managing regional heads and city managers, and overseeing logistics and equipment distribution. You will build recruiting networks, set daily performance targets, track attendance and data quality, resolve field problems directly through site visits, and create scalable processes to maintain high execution standards as operations expand across multiple Indian cities.

Responsibilities

• Mobilise 100 people within 24 to 48 hours for new city operations
• Build and maintain local recruiter, staffing partner, and workforce networks
• Hire, train, and manage city managers, operators, and regional heads
• Manage shipping, tracking, distribution, and recovery of equipment
• Track daily attendance, productivity, data quality, costs, and equipment utilisation
• Resolve workforce shortages, shipment delays, and equipment failures
• Conduct site visits to verify execution and fix operational problems directly

Requirements

• Personally mobilised large workforces or launched operations under tight deadlines
• Built and managed field operations across multiple cities in India
• Hired and managed city managers, field operators, or regional leaders
• Directly managed logistics, shipping, and equipment or inventory
• Demonstrated ability to build recruiting networks for reliable workers at short notice
• Managed daily performance across distributed teams with strong attention to detail
• Willingness to work long hours and travel at short notice

Good to have

• Existing relationships with staffing agencies and local recruiters across India
• Experience in logistics, delivery, warehousing, or manufacturing businesses
• Track record of launching operations in new cities within days
• Experience managing wearable cameras or field-deployed equipment
• Prior experience working at an early-stage company
