The Staff HR Technology Solutions Architect at OpenGov serves as the senior technical authority for the company's HR technology ecosystem. OpenGov specializes in AI and ERP solutions for local and state governments across the United States. In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture, integration design, and technical direction of systems managing employee data across the entire employee lifecycle. Based in Pune, your normal day involves setting technical vision for the Workday platform and broader HR application portfolio, designing integrations, establishing data governance, mentoring administrators, and personally building and delivering complex configurations, integrations, and reports. You will work closely with HR, IT, and business leaders to ensure the ecosystem scales securely for a global workforce.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture of the HR technology ecosystem, including Workday and surrounding applications.
- Design and govern integration architecture across the HR ecosystem utilizing iPaaS platforms like Workato.
- Define target-state architecture and technical roadmaps that scale with a globally distributed workforce.
- Serve as design authority for HR data governance, privacy, security, and compliance across the US and India.
- Provide dotted-line technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to HR application administrators.
- Lead complex cross-functional HR technology projects and personally build high-risk integrations and configurations.
- Evaluate new Workday releases and make build-versus-configure-versus-buy recommendations.
Requirements
- Deep domain and technical expertise across the Workday platform and adjacent integrated systems.
- Extensive experience in integration architecture, data flows, and working with tools like EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, and web service APIs.
- Strong understanding of HR domains spanning payroll, benefits, talent management, recruiting, and onboarding.
- Demonstrated capability in technical strategy, influencing stakeholders, and acting as a trusted technical advisor.
- Expertise in data governance, security, access models, and privacy regulations across geographies.
- Experience in hands-on technical delivery of complex configurations, integrations, and reports.

- Familiarity with adjacent platforms like ADP, Ashby, CultureAmp, and NetSuite.
- Experience with data warehousing and BI tooling such as Snowflake.
- Experience implementing automation and AI within the HR technology stack.
