bjakcareer is looking for an Android Software Engineer to build and improve the native mobile experience for its leading financial and insurance platform. BJAK aims to provide smarter ways for millions of people to plan, save, and grow their money across Southeast Asia and other expanding areas. In this role, you will create clean user flows and ship reliable mobile features used by real customers. A normal day involves designing Android features with Kotlin, building mobile flows for insurance and financial services, collaborating with product and design teams to simplify user journeys, integrating backend APIs, improving app performance, and reducing crash rates. You will work in a fast-paced remote environment based in India, helping shape next-generation financial applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship Android features using Kotlin.
• Create clean mobile flows for insurance, payments, claims, renewals, and financial services.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to simplify complex user journeys.
• Integrate backend APIs to ensure mobile flows remain stable, secure, and reliable.
• Enhance app performance, reduce crash rates, and optimize loading states, responsiveness, and memory usage.
• Utilize analytics, user behavior insights, and production issue data to improve the product.
• Build AI-assisted mobile experiences when they genuinely improve the user journey.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Android development experience using Kotlin.
• Strong Android fundamentals with a proven track record of shipping production apps.
• Good knowledge of Jetpack, Coroutines, Flow, and modern Android architecture.
• Strong sense of mobile UX, usability, handling edge cases, and designing intuitive user flows.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and debugging production issues.
• Demonstrated fast execution, high ownership, and strong attention to product quality.
• Strong English communication skills for working across global teams.

Good to have

• App links, GitHub profiles, screenshots, or examples of previously shipped work.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose.
• Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with TensorFlow Lite for on-device inference.
