Motive is looking for a Lead Accountant to join their team and help empower physical operations with tools for safety, productivity, and profitability. Motive builds platforms that bring safety, operations, and finance teams together to manage fleets, equipment, and spend using advanced AI and automation, serving nearly 100,000 customers globally. In this role, you will handle financial closing activities, manage intercompany transactions, support treasury tasks, and assist with audits. A normal day in this remote position involves managing month-end and quarter-end closes, reviewing account reconciliations, addressing complex accounting issues independently, driving process improvements, and collaborating closely with various teams like Finance, Treasury, and Tax to strengthen the company's overall financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Manage intercompany transactions and compliance requirements across international entities.
- Support audits and financial reporting while keeping documentation audit-ready.
- Implement process improvements and automation to strengthen controls.
- Partner with internal teams like Finance, FP&A, and Tax to resolve accounting issues.
Requirements
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience in a technology, SaaS, or multinational setup.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial close, and statutory compliance.
- Experience managing complex reconciliations and audit requests.
- Advanced Excel skills and data analysis capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

- Professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, or equivalent.
