Motive is seeking a Senior AI Platform Engineer for its enterprise systems team in India. Motive builds tools that empower people running physical operations, helping safety, operations, and finance teams manage drivers, vehicles, equipment, and fleet-related spend in one system using industry-leading AI. In this remote role, you will build and ship production software and AI systems on reliable, secure, and cost-conscious cloud infrastructure. A normal day involves designing applications, operating AI inference platforms and pipelines, and managing unit economics like tokens and GPU-hours as core engineering constraints. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver working software that improves reliability and lowers the cost of AI value.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship production services, APIs, and user-facing interfaces where needed.
• Manage the full software lifecycle from implementation and testing to CI/CD, deployment, and maintenance.
• Build and operate production AI systems including RAG, evaluation, fine-tuning, serving, and inference optimization.
• Architect AWS or GCP environments utilizing Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Handle observability and incident response while partnering on compliance and least-privilege IAM.
• Optimize cloud and AI spend by tracking metrics, managing budgets, and right-sizing resources.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience owning production systems.
• Experience shipping backend services, APIs, and production AI or ML systems like LLMs and RAG.
• Proficiency in Python along with a second technology stack and deep familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP using Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD.
• Demonstrated ability in reducing or governing cloud and AI infrastructure spend.
• Strong technical communication skills with a build-it-and-run-it mindset.

Good to have

• Experience with full-stack development using React or Next.js.
• Familiarity with vector databases and AI inference optimization.
• Knowledge of FinOps tooling and compliance standards like SOX and SOC 2.
• Experience using AI assistants such as Copilot or Cursor.
