Motive is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their Accounting team on a remote basis in India. Motive builds tools that empower people running physical operations, helping safety, operations, and finance teams manage drivers, vehicles, equipment, and fleet-related spending in one system using industry-leading AI. In this role, you will report to the Accounting Manager and help ensure accurate, timely financial reporting as the company scales. A normal day in this position involves taking ownership of accounting activities, handling month-end close processes, performing account reconciliations, ensuring proper transaction recording under US GAAP, and collaborating with cross-functional teams like Finance, Operations, Procurement, and Legal to resolve accounting matters and improve internal financial procedures.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and follow US GAAP.
- Develop and improve accounting policies, controls, and reporting processes.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and Legal teams to resolve accounting issues.
- Support internal and external audits and technical accounting analyses.
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience with general ledger and month-end close.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience using NetSuite or a comparable ERP system.
- Strong analytical skills to manage complex projects independently.
