Level AI is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for a remote position in India requiring work in the EST zone from 8 PM to 4 AM IST. Level AI is a Series C enterprise platform backed by Battery Ventures and ENIAC, using advanced AI and Large Language Models to transform customer contact centers into engines of customer intelligence and growth. In this role, you sit at the intersection of infrastructure operations, backend engineering, and FinOps. A normal day involves managing Kubernetes cost efficiency, running GPU throughput experiments on on-premise clusters, building tooling to help backend teams manage reliability budgets, handling observability instrumentation, and contributing to platform security workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure cost efficiency and FinOps by reducing Kubernetes overprovisioning and right-sizing
• Run structured experimentation programs on on-premise GPU clusters to optimize GPU throughput
• Build tooling, dashboards, and processes to enable backend teams to own cost and reliability budgets
• Own reliability instrumentation across new and offline flows for cost-at-scale and reliability
• Execute selective platform-security workstreams alongside senior DevOps engineers

Requirements

• Possess 4-5 years of hands-on systems experience
• Demonstrate backend engineering depth with production experience in Python, Go, or Rust
• Have expertise in Kubernetes at scale including scheduler behavior, HPA/VPA, and cost-aware autoscaling
• Show fluency in GCP, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CI/CD, and hybrid on-prem GPU setups
• Understand GPU workloads, throughput profiling, batching, and inference server tuning
• Bring observability and reliability discipline with metrics, traces, logs, and SLOs
• Apply a FinOps mindset to convert infrastructure choices into measurable cost outcomes
• Handle platform-security workstreams and work in the EST time zone from 8 PM to 4 AM IST
