As a Lead Software Engineer at Level AI, you will play a crucial role in raising the engineering bar across the entire technology stack, which includes applications, platforms, and infrastructure. In this role, your normal day will involve working closely with team members and product managers to design and build highly scalable, performant, and low-latency distributed systems. You will serve as a technical thought leader, solving complex architectural problems, coaching and mentoring junior engineers, and driving engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. By combining hands-on technical execution with cross-functional collaboration, you will help deliver simple and elegant solutions that align with vital business goals and support the company's continuous technological innovation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the technical roadmap to scale Level AI’s technology stack.
- Design and build highly scalable and low-latency distributed systems to process large-scale real-time data.
- Drive best-in class engineering practices through the software development lifecycle.
- Drive operational excellence for critical services that need to have high uptime.
- Collaborate with stakeholders within and outside engineering to create and execute technical plans for business goals.
- Stay up to date with latest technologies and thoughtfully apply them to the company tech stack.
Requirements
- B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/PhD from tier 1/2 Engineering institutes with relevant experience at a top tech company.
- 6+ years of Backend and Infrastructure experience with a strong track record in development, architecture, and design.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale databases, high-scale messaging systems, and real-time job queues.
- Experience navigating and understanding large-scale systems, complex code bases, and architectural patterns.
- Experience mentoring and providing technical leadership to other engineers in the team.
- Hands-on expertise with Google Pub/Sub and Kafka in queue management.
- Proficiency in backend frameworks including Flask, FastAPI, and Django.
- Familiarity with auto-scaling in distributed systems.
Good to have
- Experience with Google Cloud, Postgres, Celery, and Redis.
- Some experience with AI Infrastructure and Operations.
