Boku in Mumbai is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test II to help build and maintain the payment infrastructure powering global commerce. Boku connects billions of consumers to preferred local payment methods, serving top digital businesses like Spotify, Meta, Microsoft, Netflix, and Tencent across more than 60 countries. In this role, you will ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise-level applications, financial systems, and backend services. A normal day involves collaborating with global, cross-functional teams, designing and executing comprehensive testing strategies, building and maintaining automation frameworks for APIs and backend systems, writing SQL queries for data validation, debugging issues through server logs, and actively participating in Agile ceremonies to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of end-to-end QA activities including requirement analysis, test planning, execution, and reporting.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases for APIs, middleware, and backend systems.
• Perform both manual and automated testing for enterprise-class and financial applications.
• Execute API testing using Postman and automate using Rest Assured with Java.
• Write and execute SQL queries for data validation and backend verification.
• Debug application issues using server logs and backend diagnostics.
• Track defects, manage test cases, and report issues using tools like JIRA, TestRail, or X-Ray.
• Collaborate with Technology Leads, Product Managers, and Business Teams in Agile ceremonies.

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Testing.
• At least 2 years of hands-on automation experience.
• Proficiency in API testing tools such as Postman and SOAP UI.
• Hands-on experience in API automation using Rest Assured with Java.
• Strong knowledge of SQL for writing and understanding complex queries.
• Experience working with Unix/Linux environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Good to have

• Familiarity with UI testing and automation tools like Selenium WebDriver.
• Knowledge of AWS or cloud platforms.
• Understanding of financial systems, payment gateways, and e-wallets.
• Working knowledge on Agentic AI with Github Co-pilot or relevant tools.
• Relevant certifications in QA, Automation Testing, or Agile methodologies.
