As a Forward Deployed Engineer - AI Agents at Prodigal in Mumbai, you will build and deploy LLM-powered AI agents for real-world use cases in financial operations. Prodigal provides a connected AI platform used by financial institutions like banks and lenders to handle high-stakes customer interactions and back-office workflows. Your daily routine involves managing the complete lifecycle of AI systems, creating and refining prompts and RAG pipelines, and collaborating with customers and implementation teams to scope problems, monitor performance, and drive successful deployments. You will focus on scaling AI agents that analyze conversations, guide users, and orchestrate outreach for major financial companies.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy production-ready LLM and voice AI agents for real-world use cases
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of AI systems from initial scoping to monitoring and iteration
• Design and optimize prompts, RAG pipelines, and evaluation frameworks for better accuracy
• Collaborate directly with customers and Implementation Managers to understand workflows
• Solve real-world problems and drive successful project go-lives and iterations

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of experience in backend, data, or AI engineering
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience or exposure to LLMs, RAG, or prompt engineering
• High ownership with the ability to work in ambiguity and ship quickly
• Comfortable working directly with customers and cross-functional teams
• In-office work mode in Mumbai

Good to have

• Experience with production LLM systems or AI agents
• Familiarity with evaluation, agent tooling, or voice AI
• Experience with Databricks, MongoDB, or distributed systems
• Startup or customer-facing engineering experience
