Data Steward - Quality Excellence

AlphaSense India is hiring for a Data Steward - Quality Excellence position on a full-time, remote basis. AlphaSense provides market intelligence and search solutions built on AI, helping thousands of enterprise customers make informed decisions using trusted public and private content. In this role, you will work horizontally across various content domains to drive data quality, governance, and operational excellence. A normal day involves setting data quality standards, monitoring dataset health, investigating recurring issues, conducting root cause analysis, and building quality dashboards. You will also collaborate closely with content operations, product, engineering, and quality teams to implement scalable improvements, define metadata definitions, and support automation initiatives that ensure datasets remain accurate, complete, and consistent for customer and AI applications.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain data quality standards, business rules, and taxonomy frameworks.
• Monitor dataset health metrics to improve accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
• Investigate recurring data issues and perform root cause analysis for scalable solutions.
• Develop quality dashboards, data dictionaries, and governance documentation.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to define data requirements and support automation.
• Support complex customer escalations requiring strong domain and data expertise.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives for content quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, content operations, or information management.
• Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis and cross-functional process improvement.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate ambiguity.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across multiple teams.
• Experience defining operational metrics, standards, processes, and documentation.

Good to have

• Experience in financial information services or related industries.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Familiarity with SQL, BI tools, AI workflows, or metadata management.
