AlphaSense India is looking for a Staff Engineer, AI Product to join their engineering team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will help transform how AI-powered systems are built and operated at scale. A normal day in this position involves architecting distributed systems for AI agents, establishing engineering excellence through testing and CI/CD pipelines, mentoring team members, owning the technical roadmap, and collaborating with machine learning engineers to productionize cutting-edge AI capabilities while ensuring high system reliability and stability.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement distributed systems for AI agents handling high request volumes efficiently
- Establish comprehensive testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and observability systems
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers, sharing production system expertise
- Own the technical roadmap and shape long-term architectural decisions for the AI platform
- Collaborate with ML engineers and researchers to productionize advanced AI capabilities
- Debug production issues and ensure system reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building and operating distributed systems in production
- Track record of improving system reliability and achieving high uptime
- Deep expertise in microservices, containerization with Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code
- Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineering teams
- Strong coding skills with the ability to work across the stack
- Excellence in debugging production issues and implementing observability
- History of making pragmatic trade-offs between perfect and shipped solutions
Good to have
- Experience with LLM applications, agent frameworks, or AI/ML infrastructure
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG patterns, and vector databases
- Background working at high-growth companies or modern engineering cultures
- Experience with multi-model AI systems such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google
