Engineering Manager (Passkeys)

Bitwarden is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for its Passkeys team at the new India Engineering Center of Excellence in Noida, Delhi NCR. Bitwarden is an identity security leader that helps millions of users, enterprises, and developers securely manage sensitive information across all devices. In this role, you will lead the Passkeys team as they build WebAuthn and FIDO2 implementations, credential provider integrations, and emerging standards for moving credentials across platforms. A normal day involves hiring and developing engineering talent, setting goals, facilitating team meetings like sprint planning and retrospectives, triaging production issues or customer escalations, maintaining a sprint-ready backlog, and collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Architecture teams to keep projects aligned and moving forward efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and retain a strong team of engineers through regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Facilitate agile team ceremonies including weekly syncs, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
• Monitor active work to resolve blockers and provide contextual updates to the wider organization.
• Own escalation and triage for production issues and enterprise customer bugs related to integrations.
• Maintain a prioritized, sprint-ready backlog with well-defined technical descriptions and designs.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the engineering team and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Identify friction points in processes to improve team efficiency and developer experience.

Requirements

• 10-12 years of experience leading engineering teams or complex product engineering initiatives.
• Experience working in globally distributed Product Engineering, GCC, or Center of Excellence environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile software development and product delivery lifecycles.
• Background in Engineering Management, Technical Program Management, or similar leadership roles.
• Strong technical background in CI/CD, automation, and release engineering.
• Experience managing or working closely with BRE, SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with executive stakeholders.

Good to have

• Formal management training or certifications.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management platforms.
• Familiarity with AI tooling for development and workflow support like Claude Code.
