Bitwarden, a trusted leader in identity security, is building its India Engineering Center of Excellence in Noida, Delhi NCR, and is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Architecture group. Bitwarden enables enterprises, developers, and individuals to safely manage and share sensitive data across devices through password management, secrets management, and passkey innovations. In this role, you will help shape the future of the Bitwarden product across web, mobile, and server components. A normal day involves leading new product investments, building proof-of-concept projects, conducting architectural reviews, guiding technical strategy, mentoring peers, and serving as a technical escalation point. You will work independently to drive solutions throughout the entire development lifecycle, collaborating with a talented global team and an active open-source community to bring secure internet experiences to users worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Become an authority on the Bitwarden codebase across backend infrastructure, APIs, databases, web, mobile, desktop, and browser extensions.
• Engage in hands-on product development and deliver valuable features from idea to execution.
• Direct and support technical strategy and new framework decisions across all engineering domains.
• Build proof-of-concept or minimum-viable projects for new product areas and hand them over to domain teams.
• Own systems-level documentation and serve as a technical escalation point to resolve development hurdles.
• Mentor, coach, and guide other teams through solution design, implementation, and skill development.
• Review code and architectural designs while assisting the open-source user community with pull requests.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience working with the tech stack including .NET Core with C#, JavaScript or TypeScript, Angular, Docker, Azure, and SQL Server or similar RDBMS.
• Proficiency in using source control tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently find and communicate solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly across all organizational levels.
• Collaborative, adaptable, open, and authentic mindset.
• Enthusiasm for helping customers solve password and security challenges.
• A strong zeal for continuous learning and improving software development skills.
