As a Senior Engineer, QE at AlphaSense India, you will own the test strategy and coverage for your team's features, acting as a strategic quality partner to the developers who build them. In this role, you will design test plans, create and evolve automation frameworks, and champion quality-by-design principles. A normal day involves collaborating closely with product managers, platform teams, and developers to define test requirements, implement shift-left practices, execute test strategies across UI and API layers, and help the organization ship reliable products with speed and confidence.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute comprehensive test strategies across UI, API, and service layers.
• Develop, maintain, and scale reliable automation frameworks and performance testing suites.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools and agentic workflows to speed up testing and debugging.
• Lead risk assessments, release validations, and root-cause analyses for critical issues.
• Implement shift-left testing practices and enforce quality gates within development teams.
• Partner with developers, product managers, and platform teams to define test requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering roles.
• Deep proficiency in testing TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern frontend ecosystems.
• Expert-level experience with Playwright or comparable browser automation frameworks.
• Strong background in unit and component testing frameworks like Vitest, Jest, or React Testing Library.
• Proven history of building test automation frameworks from scratch or scaling existing ones.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD systems and test suite integration.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools for accelerating test authoring and debugging.

Good to have

• Experience with Allure or similar test reporting and analytics platforms.
• Understanding of AI/ML-powered products and their unique testing challenges.
• Familiarity with performance and load testing tools such as k6 or Artillery.
• Familiarity with visual regression testing tools like Percy or Chromatic.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure like AWS or GCP.
