The Endpoint Data Security team focuses on building next-generation products that protect sensitive data on managed employee machines, extending cloud data protection capabilities to corporate endpoints. As a Sr. Staff Engineer for Endpoint Security at Netskope in India, you will shape and drive advanced endpoint protection capabilities. A normal day in this role involves leading complex technical initiatives from design to production, setting architectural directions for backend services, defining standards for operational excellence, performing code reviews, and collaborating closely with product and engineering stakeholders. You will also mentor team members, champion engineering best practices, and work on solving challenging cloud access and data security problems while ensuring high system availability, resiliency, and performance at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own complex technical initiatives end-to-end from design to production deployment.
• Set architectural direction for backend distribution APIs and services.
• Collaborate with product and infrastructure stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Champion engineering best practices across code quality, testing, CI/CD, and observability.
• Set standards for operational excellence, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Perform thorough code reviews to uphold technical rigor and maintainability.
• Mentor and coach engineers to foster ownership and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to technical documentation and promote knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field, and/or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience building and operating highly available, distributed backend systems in production.
• Strong experience designing and developing large-scale backend services using Golang.
• Experience deploying and scaling services within cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and source control systems like Git, Gitlab, or Jenkins.
• Experience with observability tools for metrics, logging, and monitoring such as Datadog or Grafana.
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.

Good to have

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
