Weave is hiring a Staff ML - GenAI Engineer for their Voice & Speech team in India. In this role, you will join the Machine Learning Team to drive product innovation by creating AI-driven applications and voice modalities at scale. The team focuses on democratizing machine learning, making it straightforward for developers to build advanced features using large volumes of data without needing a PhD. A normal day involves designing machine learning infrastructure and models, building internal platforms for AI integration, collaborating with cross-functional agile teams, writing high-quality code, and consulting with other developers on machine learning best practices and system architecture. You will work in a fully remote setup with expected overlap between Indian and US business hours, impacting the way customers experience Weave's services daily.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop machine learning infrastructure, tooling, and models for customer experiences.
• Help product teams understand the data lifecycle and experimental nature of machine learning.
• Build internal platforms enabling teams to incorporate AI into customer-facing products.
• Consult with teams on machine learning patterns, anti-pattern tradeoffs, and end-to-end customer experiences.
• Build scalable and resilient services to support data integration and event processing.
• Write clean, high-performance, sustainable, and testable code.
• Coach and collaborate internally and externally to help team members grow and share expertise.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in Machine Learning or AI with expertise in audio and voice GenAI solutions at scale.
• Deep expertise with modern ML tools including LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and high-scale audio or voice models.
• Experience moving and storing terabytes of data or hundreds of millions to billions of records.
• Experience building and deploying ML-driven B2B multi-tenant applications in production environments.
• Proficiency with common ML technologies such as Python, Jupyter, workflow engines, DVC, Triton Server, and Postgres.
• Understanding of distributed systems and building scalable, redundant, and observable services.
• Experience building solutions to run on public clouds such as AWS and GCP.

Good to have

• Background with data analysis, visualisation, and presentation.
• Experience with low-latency natural language models and real-time audio models like ASR pipelines and speech synthesis.
• Experience with Kubernetes, GKE, containers, and orchestrators.
• Experience with highly sensitive data like PHI and PII.
• Preference for open source solutions and clean, simple-to-use APIs.
