The Assurance Centre of Excellence (CoE) provides high-risk assurance across key domains including Financial Crime, Finance, Credit, Operations, Technology, and Regulatory Reporting. As an SVP - Business Assurance at oaknorth in Gurugram, your main role is to lead the delivery of the annual assurance plan across Financial Crime, Operations, Conduct, and Compliance while personally executing complex assurance engagements. Reporting to the Assurance COE Lead, a normal day involves defining assurance scope, managing and developing a team, partnering with Risk and Compliance leadership, conducting end-to-end reviews, and leveraging data analytics and AI to enhance risk identification and control monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Own and shape the assurance strategy and annual plan across Financial Crime, Conduct, Compliance, and Operations.
• Personally lead and execute complex, high-risk reviews end-to-end from scoping to remediation.
• Translate changes in the UK and US regulatory landscape into appropriate assurance coverage.
• Build and embed continuous monitoring across key controls and risk indicators using data and analytics.
• Act as a senior assurance partner and constructive challenger to Risk, Compliance, and Operations leadership.
• Lead, develop, and provide technical direction to the assurance team.
• Drive innovation in assurance delivery by using AI, automation, and data analytics.

Requirements

• 15+ years of relevant experience in Internal Audit, Risk, or Compliance within regulated financial services.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
• Relevant Financial Crime or Compliance qualification such as ACAMS or ICA.
• Strong technical knowledge across multiple risk and regulatory domains.
• Proven track record of personally leading and delivering complex, multi-domain reviews end-to-end.
• Good understanding of the UK regulatory environment and control assessments.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing assurance professionals with high standards of quality.

Good to have

• Experience building control monitoring frameworks or dashboards.
• Exposure to cross-jurisdictional regulatory requirements (UK or US).
• Additional qualification such as CIA or equivalent.
