As a Senior Specialist, Payroll at MongoDB in Gurugram, your day-to-day involves handling end-to-end payroll operations for multiple countries across the APAC region with high accuracy and compliance. Working within the Global Payroll team and reporting to the India-based Senior Payroll Manager, you will review payroll outputs, investigate variances, manage complex transactions like bonuses and retro adjustments, and handle employee inquiries. MongoDB provides a unified data platform and cloud-native database services like MongoDB Atlas, helping organizations modernize workloads and drive AI innovation worldwide. Your regular tasks will also include auditing payroll deductions, supporting reconciliations and year-end activities, collaborating with external vendors, and identifying process improvements to maintain efficient operations under a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end payroll processing for India, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia.
• Review payroll outputs, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies before final approval.
• Manage complex transactions such as bonuses, retro adjustments, off-cycle payments, and payroll corrections.
• Administer and audit payroll deductions, pre-tax benefits, retirement plans, and garnishments.
• Serve as the primary contact for payroll queries from employees, HR, Finance, and Benefits teams.
• Support payroll reconciliations, audits, year-end activities, and backup coverage for regional payrolls.
• Identify process gaps, document SOPs, and participate in system upgrades and testing.

Requirements

• Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in high-volume, complex APAC payroll processing.
• Strong knowledge of APAC tax regulations, compliance requirements, and labor laws.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise payroll systems and HRIS platforms like ADP and SuccessFactors.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Solid understanding of wage garnishments, pre-tax benefits, and payroll accounting concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
