In the role of Associate of R&D Strategic Finance (FP&A) at Chennai, you will manage key aspects of financial reporting, monthly and quarterly processes, and planning activities within the R&D Finance and Strategy team. A normal day involves supporting monthly and quarterly financial close processes for the R&D function, tracking and reconciling headcount, managing the R&D vendor portfolio, and building reports using financial tools. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, partner with R&D leadership, and work on process improvements and automation to support company goals while working a 2 pm to 11 pm IST shift.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly and quarterly financial close processes for the R&D function including budget and actuals analysis.
• Manage headcount tracking, reporting, and reconciliation to align resource planning with strategic goals.
• Oversee financial management for the R&D vendor portfolio including purchase orders and invoice reconciliation.
• Build and maintain standard reports using Toast's financial systems to improve forecast accuracy.
• Assess and refine financial processes by implementing automation and standardization initiatives.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to advise on financial reporting that supports R&D goals.
• Work during the shift timings of 2 pm to 11 pm IST.

Requirements

• 4+ years of work experience in FP&A, investment banking, consulting, private equity, business operations, or accounting.
• Strong analytical skills including financial modeling and data or trend analysis.
• High proficiency in advanced Excel, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, and Google Slides.
• Experience working with financial systems such as WorkDay, Adaptive, Greenhouse, NetSuite, or similar tools.
• Positive attitude with a high aptitude to learn new things quickly and collaborate as a team player.
• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a drive to improve processes.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, diverse, inclusive, and open-minded environment.
