Hevo Data is seeking an Associate Technical Writer to join their team in Bangalore, India. Hevo provides a no-code Data Pipeline platform used by over a thousand global companies and is recognized as a leader in the ETL and Data Integration category. In this role, you will work in a modern docs-as-code environment and partner closely with AI tools like Claude to handle various stages of documentation work. A normal day involves managing end-to-end documentation tasks, using Markdown and Git-based workflows, collaborating with product and engineering teams, and ensuring that technical content remains accurate and consistent across the platform.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain user documentation using Markdown, YAML, Git, and CI-driven publishing tools.
• Own small documentation tickets and projects independently from research to PR merge.
• Draft, restructure, and QA content using AI-assisted tools while carefully editing the output.
• Research technical information by reviewing product specs, existing docs, and engineering discussions.
• Enforce documentation standards, style guides, and metadata conventions across content.
• Execute Git workflows including branching, raising pull requests, and addressing review comments.
• Partner with engineering, product, and support teams to validate technical accuracy.
• Identify and flag unverified, ambiguous, or inferred content before publication.

Requirements

• Strong written English with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
• Basic familiarity with Markdown and Git workflows such as cloning, branching, committing, and PRs.
• Comfort using AI writing and review tools daily, including prompting and verifying output.
• Ability to read product UI, API documentation, and basic YAML or JSON structures.
• Strong attention to detail regarding formatting, tone, and terminology consistency.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in technical writing, content creation, or related fields.

Good to have

• Exposure to project management and ticketing tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with Slack-based collaboration.
• Intermediate AI skills creation.
