The Customer Reliability Engineering team at Astronomer ensures the success of customer usage regarding their managed Airflow service. As a Customer Reliability Engineer focusing on infrastructure, your main responsibility centers on the reliability of the underlying cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters. Your normal day involves operating, monitoring, and maintaining the platform, responding to customer-raised or system-monitored incidents, troubleshooting customer environments, and building automation to handle operational tasks efficiently. This is a customer-facing role based in Hyderabad using a hybrid work model where you work at least three days per week at the office.
Responsibilities
- Provide solutions to make customers successful using Astronomer products.
- Troubleshoot customer environments and engage in active triaging.
- Build and maintain monitoring, alerting systems, and daily operational automation.
- Own the customer experience by working directly to solve issues and meet SLAs.
- Participate in a specified pager period and paid on-call weekend rotation.
- Provide feedback and documentation to product development teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with large, complex cloud infrastructures at scale.
- 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes.
- Experience managing production distributed systems with major cloud providers.
- Strong network and Linux experience.
- Experience with observability tools and monitoring distributed systems.
- Previous experience handling internal or external customer issues.
- DevOps or CI/CD experience along with Python scripting skills.
