AirTrunk, a prominent hyperscale data centre company in the Asia Pacific and Middle East region, is looking for a Design Manager to join its team in Mumbai, India. The company focuses on scaling and sustaining the digital future by building and delivering innovative digital infrastructure for major global companies with an emphasis on sustainability. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director of Design, collaborating with leadership and teams across India, Sydney, and Singapore. A normal day in this position involves supporting large-scale data centre design projects from the concept stage through detailed design phases, driving innovation and efficiency, and coordinating closely with internal teams, consultants, and contractors. You will also manage project costs, schedules, and quality, while presenting weekly progress reports to ensure designs meet technical compliance and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support large-scale data centre design projects from concept through detailed design phases.
• Drive innovation and efficiency in design to aid rapid expansion and sustainability goals.
• Develop and manage concept, schematic, and detailed design phases in-house or via consultants.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure design integrity and compliance.
• Ensure projects meet company and customer requirements, cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Present weekly progress reports highlighting support needs and completed milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical-HVAC, IBMS, Civil-Architectural, or Structural engineering.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in engineering and design, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or data centre buildings.
• Strong knowledge and analytical skills in a relevant engineering specialization.
• Expertise in data centre systems, core and shell building design, and master planning.
• Experience in reading, understanding, responding to, and implementing customer RFPs.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Good to have

• Electrical Engineering with EHV experience and LV distribution knowledge.
• Previous experience working as a Design Manager in consultancy or client side.
• Knowledge of both engineering disciplines or more.
• Alignment with AirTrunk culture and a positive mindset.
