Sarvam AI is creating India's full-stack sovereign AI platform, focusing on research, models, infrastructure, and applications to make AI effective for the country. Backed by major investors and partnering with leading enterprises and public institutions, the company is looking for a Frontend Engineer for the Chanakya project. This role is not about simple forms and tables; you will build advanced interfaces sitting on top of Sarvam's AI stack for demanding Indian environments. A normal day involves designing performant user interfaces, owning product components end-to-end, building for offline-first and low-bandwidth client settings, collaborating closely with backend engineers and product managers, and contributing to shared frontend infrastructure like component libraries and state management patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design and build performant frontend interfaces for enterprise AI use cases
• Own the frontend layer of product components end-to-end from architecture to deployment
• Collaborate with backend engineers and product managers to deliver user-facing features
• Build interfaces tailored for constrained, offline-first, and low-bandwidth environments
• Contribute to shared frontend infrastructure including component libraries and design systems
• Participate in field testing and client feedback loops across strategic accounts

Requirements

• 3 to 6 years of experience in frontend engineering with shipped production products
• Deep proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern CSS frameworks like Tailwind
• Strong state management skills using tools like Zustand or Redux Toolkit
• Experience with data visualisation libraries such as D3.js, Mapbox, or Recharts in production
• Ability to integrate REST and WebSocket APIs with cross-boundary debugging awareness
• Experience with performance engineering like bundle optimisation and rendering in low-resource settings

Good to have

• Familiarity with WebGL or Three.js for 3D visualisation
• Experience with Electron or desktop applications
• Knowledge of offline-first or PWA architecture
• Prior work on command-and-control UIs or complex enterprise tooling
