Forward is hiring a Network Engineer to join the Network team in Bengaluru, India. Founded in 2013 by Stanford Ph.D.s, Forward builds the industry's first network digital twin, creating a mathematically accurate model of production networks. This platform empowers engineers and AI agents to understand the impact of every change prior to production, helping global leaders and enterprises secure and run multi-vendor and cloud environments. In this role, you will work closely with software developers and engineering teams. A normal day typically involves conducting extensive feature testing on various routing protocols across multiple vendor platforms, and educating software developers on networking technologies and terminology so they can build accurate network models.
Responsibilities
- Perform extensive testing of features across routing protocols such as BGP, MPLS, MP-BGP, RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, and SR.
- Test routing protocols on multiple vendor platforms including Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Fortinet, and PaloAlto.
- Teach networking basics and terminology to software developers building technology models.
- Collaborate with the team to support the network digital twin platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience operating large and complex networks.
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise Networking, Service Provider, and Data Centre Technologies.
- Deep understanding of how routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers function.
- Hold one or more certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or VCDX.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good to have
- Scripting or programming experience in Python, Perl, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Ansible and version control systems like git.
