Waymo, an autonomous driving technology company that began as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, is hiring a Program Manager for Mapping Operations in Hyderabad, Telangana. Waymo aims to build the world's most trusted driver to enhance mobility access and reduce traffic fatalities. The Waymo Driver powers a fully autonomous ride-hail service and supports various vehicle platforms, having completed millions of rider-only trips across public roads and simulation miles. In this full-time role, you will build deep expertise in the Imagery component of mapping operations and act as a primary contact for vendor teams. A normal day involves testing and launching new mapping tools with engineering partners, identifying efficiency improvements, managing solutions end-to-end, and maintaining technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep subject matter expertise on the Imagery component of mapping operations
• Serve as a go-to point of contact for vendor teams
• Test and roll out new mapping tools, features, and workflows with Engineering partners
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and own solutions end-to-end
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation
• Coordinate directly with Software Engineers to resolve blockers and keep operations running

Requirements

• B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
• 2+ years managing technical data pipelines or operations
• Direct responsibility for task flow, throughput, and error triage
• Proven experience ramping up on proprietary tools and independently diagnosing data anomalies
• Demonstrated experience translating raw engineering specs into operational workflows
• Experience coordinating directly with Software Engineers to resolve blockers

Good to have

• MBA / PGDM with a specialization in Operations, Supply Chain, or Systems
• Direct experience with geospatial data, HD maps, GIS, LiDAR/camera sensor data, or AV/robotics pipelines
• Experience training, auditing, and enforcing strict quality and SLA metrics across vendor pods
• Proficiency in SQL or Python for extracting pipeline logs, auditing defect rates, and building dashboards
• Ability to travel to the US as needed, at least once every 2 years
