Backbase is hiring a Senior AI Engineer in Hyderabad to design and deliver complex AI-enabled digital banking product capabilities. In this role, you will act as a technical cornerstone in a pod-based model, building full-stack solutions that span user interfaces, APIs, services, and data pipelines. You will take full ownership of the software development lifecycle, working closely with architects, product owners, and UX designers. A normal day involves building and refining LLM-based voice assistants and real-time personalization engines using OpenAI and machine learning models, ensuring backend performance and frontend experiences are seamless. You will also improve system architecture, implement security and fraud prevention services, mentor junior team members, conduct code reviews, and drive AI-native engineering standards across the team with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver complex AI-enabled product capabilities across UI, APIs, services, and data pipelines.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle of digital banking products from architecture to release.
• Contribute to the development of LLM-based voice assistants and real-time personalization engines using OpenAI and ML models.
• Build and improve system architecture, microservices, and integration components.
• Implement security, fraud prevention, and entitlements services focusing on scalability and resilience.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and raise engineering standards.
• Collaborate in a pod model with architects, product owners, and UX designers.

Requirements

• 5 to 7+ years of professional experience building complex, high-traffic products.
• Strong backend skills in Java, Spring JPA/Hibernate, Maven, Microservices, and Cloud technologies.
• Strong frontend skills in Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, and modern build systems like Webpack and Jenkins.
• Solid understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns and system design for complex data flows.
• Experience optimizing CI/CD pipelines and reducing technical debt.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills for stakeholder alignment.
