AlphaSense is looking for a Senior Engineer, QE to join its team in India. AlphaSense provides AI-driven market intelligence and search platforms to help major companies make confident, data-informed decisions. In this role, you will take ownership of test strategy and coverage for your team's features, serving as a key quality partner for builders. A normal day in this position involves designing test plans, creating and evolving automation frameworks, and embedding quality-by-design principles. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and platform teams to establish test requirements, encourage sustainable quality habits, and ensure features are shipped securely and efficiently at speed.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute test strategies across UI, API, and service layers for robust coverage.
• Develop and maintain reliable automation frameworks and performance testing suites.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools and agentic workflows to speed up testing and debugging cycles.
• Lead risk assessments, release validations, and root-cause analyses for critical issues.
• Implement shift-left practices and enforce quality gates within development teams.
• Partner with developers, product managers, and platform teams to define test requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering roles.
• Deep proficiency in testing TypeScript/JavaScript and modern frontend ecosystems like React and Webpack.
• Expert-level experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium WebDriver for end-to-end testing.
• Strong experience with unit and component testing frameworks such as Vitest, Jest, or React Testing Library.
• Proven track record of designing and building test automation frameworks from scratch or scaling existing ones.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD systems like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Buildkite, or GitLab and test suite integration.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude.
• Hands-on experience with test reporting and analytics platforms like Allure.

Good to have

• Understanding of AI/ML-powered products and testing challenges such as non-deterministic outputs and model evaluation.
• Experience in SaaS, fintech, or market intelligence domains.
• Familiarity with performance and load testing tools including k6, Lighthouse, or Artillery.
• Familiarity with visual regression testing tools like Percy, Chromatic, or Playwright visual comparisons.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP.
