The Senior Product Manager role at NetDocuments in Hyderabad involves serving as the founding product leader for the company's first Developer Experience team. NetDocuments builds an intelligent document management platform and a legal context graph for legal professionals to streamline work and manage institutional knowledge. A normal day in this role involves partnering with engineering leaders to define product charters, running discovery with distributed engineering teams to understand tooling and developer pain points, translating findings into a prioritized roadmap from scratch, tracking developer productivity metrics, and driving adoption of tools across cross-functional teams without formal authority. You will also participate in team-building activities, help establish working norms, and occasionally travel internationally to collaborate with US-based engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the founding product leader for the first Developer Experience team and define its product charter.
• Partner with the Principal Software Engineer to establish the roadmap, success metrics, and technical direction.
• Conduct discovery sessions with distributed engineering teams to identify current tooling and developer pain points.
• Build trusted relationships and manage stakeholders across different time zones without formal authority.
• Define and prioritize a clear roadmap for a brand-new team without an existing backlog.
• Track developer productivity signals like DORA metrics to measure impact and baseline developer satisfaction.
• Drive adoption of new tools and standards across various engineering teams to build organization-wide buy-in.
• Participate in hiring decisions and help set the team culture and working norms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of product management experience including product area or roadmap ownership.
• Enterprise SaaS product management experience.
• Technical fluency to engage credibly with engineers on architecture and tooling tradeoffs.
• Experience building a roadmap and charter under ambiguity without an existing backlog.
• Experience driving product adoption across teams that do not report to you.
• Experience defining and using productivity or adoption metrics to prioritize work and measure impact.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across geographies and time zones.

Good to have

• Prior experience founding or scaling a Developer Experience or Platform Engineering product function from scratch.
• Experience partnering closely with a Principal or Staff engineer as a product or technical co-leadership pair.
• Experience running discovery and building trust with distributed, cross-country engineering teams like the US and India.
• Experience in legal technology or other regulated enterprise software environments.
• Experience hiring and building a product or engineering team from the ground up.
