As a Senior Revenue Accountant at LaunchDarkly in India, you will handle revenue recognition tasks in alignment with US GAAP and ASC 606 standards. LaunchDarkly provides a modern software delivery platform that helps engineers innovate faster, control feature rollouts, and improve release stability. Your normal day will involve managing month-end close procedures for revenue, reviewing customer contracts and non-standard terms alongside cross-functional teams like Sales and Legal, and using AI-driven automation to boost process efficiency and scalability. You will also assist with external audits and prepare ad-hoc analyses to support the growing platform.
Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly revenue close process by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
- Review customer arrangements under ASC 606 and document revenue recognition conclusions.
- Evaluate complex contract terms such as usage-based pricing and minimum commitments.
- Partner with Sales, Legal, and Finance on the accounting implications of new products and pricing models.
- Maintain revenue accounting workbooks and ensure clear audit trails from contracts to the general ledger.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and answering auditor inquiries.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate revenue accounting processes and controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 8+ years of relevant accounting experience, including SaaS revenue recognition.
- CPA or equivalent certification is required.
- Experience in public accounting is required, with Big 4 preferred.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606.
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
