The Sr Associate - Accounting Advisory role at Riveron is part of the Capital Markets Services practice, specifically within the Accounting Advisory service line. In this position, you will assist management teams with initial public offerings, de-SPAC transactions, SEC reporting, and other critical capital market activities. Because Riveron does not offer audit or compilation services, your work involves teaming up directly with clients to handle hands-on project execution. A normal day consists of researching accounting issues, preparing documentation, reviewing financial reporting processes, collaborating with various stakeholders such as legal counsel and auditors, and managing deliverables while communicating project status and risks to engagement leadership.
Responsibilities
- Support IPO, capital markets, and accounting advisory engagements for public and private company clients.
- Assist with IPO readiness assessments and implement related recommendations.
- Prepare and review workpapers, accounting analyses, technical accounting research, and deliverables.
- Support the preparation and review of SEC filings like S-1, S-4, 10-K, and 10-Q.
- Research and analyze complex accounting topics including business combinations, revenue recognition, and leases.
- Partner directly with client management, legal counsel, auditors, and underwriters to execute transactions.
- Manage assigned workstreams and report progress or issues to engagement leadership.
Requirements
- CA, ACCA, or CPA degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Relevant public accounting, accounting advisory, transaction advisory, or SEC reporting experience.
- Strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Exposure to technical accounting memos for US GAAP or IFRS.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for client and team interactions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
Good to have
- Exposure to SEC reporting requirements including Forms S-1, S-4, 10-K, and 10-Q.
- Experience supporting IPO readiness, M&A activities, carve-outs, or complex accounting matters.
