As a Staff Software Engineer, QE on the Content Portfolio team, you will shape how reliable software is delivered at scale. In this role, you will own the test strategy, build automation frameworks, and foster a strong culture of quality. A normal day involves designing AI evaluation frameworks, creating UI and API test automation, collaborating with developers and product managers, optimizing CI/CD execution pipelines, analyzing performance testing solutions, and mentoring other quality engineers on best practices and modern automation tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of UI, API, and GraphQL test automation frameworks focusing on speed and maintainability.
- Design AI evaluation frameworks to check the reliability and accuracy of LLM-powered features.
- Use AI-assisted tools like Cursor and Claude to speed up test creation and debugging.
- Implement performance testing solutions and develop custom tools for quality metrics and reporting.
- Optimize test execution pipelines and promote shift-left testing practices with development teams.
- Lead root cause analysis for critical issues and participate in code reviews for better testability.
- Provide technical mentorship to other QE engineers regarding automation best practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience operating at a Staff or Lead level.
- Deep proficiency in testing TypeScript/JavaScript and modern frontend ecosystems like React.
- Expert-level experience with browser automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Strong experience with unit and component testing frameworks like Vitest, Jest, or React Testing Library.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD systems like GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Experience with GraphQL APIs for integration testing and validating contracts.
Good to have
- Familiarity with performance and load testing tools such as k6 or Artillery.
- Experience with visual regression testing tools like Percy or Chromatic.
- Understanding of AI/ML-powered products and testing non-deterministic outputs.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure like AWS or GCP.
- Experience building or configuring MCP servers.
