Truveta is expanding its engineering team in Hyderabad, India, to support its mission of saving lives through health data. As the Director Of Engineering for Platform Services, you will lead a talented team responsible for building and managing the foundational infrastructure and backend services that support global engineering operations. Your team will oversee critical systems such as cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and identity management. A normal day in this role involves balancing hands-on technical guidance with people management and strategic planning. You will review system architecture, guide engineering standards, collaborate with distributed teams in India and the United States, and mentor engineers to foster a culture of ownership and high performance.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for Platform Services and internal engineering platforms.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure and backend services.
- Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team in India while supporting career development and hiring.
- Partner with Product, Security, Data, and Engineering teams across India and the US to manage cross-team dependencies and priorities.
- Establish robust engineering standards for system design, API development, code quality, and operational readiness.
- Drive the development of Kubernetes-based platforms, CI/CD pipelines, developer productivity tools, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Manage authentication, authorization, identity management, and access control services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of experience in technical leadership, engineering management, or people management.
- Experience leading engineering teams responsible for shared platforms, infrastructure, backend services, or developer tooling.
- Strong experience designing and building distributed systems and production-grade backend services.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, cloud-native technologies, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with authentication, authorization, identity management, or security-focused backend systems.
