Truveta is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for Data Processing to join the founding team of their new India Development Center in Hyderabad. Truveta operates a health provider-led data platform dedicated to saving lives with data by helping researchers find cures faster, empowering clinicians, and assisting families with healthcare decisions. In this role, you will be part of the Data Platform group, which manages ingestion, processing, storage, and serving of massive-scale healthcare data. A normal day involves defining platform architecture, setting multi-platform technical strategies aligned with Seattle, writing code and prototypes for critical designs, solving complex production issues, and mentoring senior engineers. You will shape the technical direction and culture of a growing global engineering hub while ensuring correctness, reliability, and speed in handling regulated health data.
Responsibilities
- Define architecture across ingestion, processing, storage, serving, governance, and observability.
- Set multi-platform technical strategy and execution sequencing.
- Remain hands-on with critical designs, prototypes, code reviews, and production issues.
- Resolve cross-team technical disagreements and document decisions.
- Establish useful architecture governance frameworks for engineers.
- Raise the technical bar through hiring, interview calibration, and mentoring.
- Represent Truveta engineering to partners, candidates, and the community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10 to 16+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Architecture ownership across multiple teams or platforms with durable results.
- Deep expertise in large-scale distributed data systems from ingestion to serving.
- Continuing hands-on practice in coding and design reviews.
- Evidence of adopted and executed technical strategy.
- Sound judgment regarding build versus buy, migration risk, and technical debt.
- Ability to influence senior leadership across geographies and time zones.
