Forward Deployed Engineer - India

As a Forward Deployed Engineer based in Bengaluru, you will embed directly with customer engineering teams to implement production-grade Cursor workflows. A normal day involves leading discovery calls to identify technical bottlenecks, designing practical solutions, and taking full ownership from the initial launch through iteration, monitoring, and post-production support. You will work closely with engineering leaders, manage performance tradeoffs, debug real-world model behaviors, and feed successful patterns back into the core Cursor product.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer discovery sessions to identify engineering bottlenecks and establish clear success metrics
• Design and construct Cursor-powered workflows for large-scale refactors, migrations, and pipelines
• Deploy rapid initial versions and refine them into reliable systems with monitoring and rollout plans
• Manage production quality including tracing, evaluations, latency and cost tradeoffs, and debugging
• Collaborate directly with engineering leaders while writing code and communicating tradeoffs
• Convert custom builds into reusable patterns to improve the core Cursor product

Requirements

• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and turn unclear problems into shipped systems
• Experience building and owning production-ready AI-native workflows beyond prototypes
• Comfort leading discovery conversations and taking accountability for customer outcomes
• Capability to build end-to-end across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and prompt iteration
• Previous experience handling production reliability, metrics, alerts, and incident response
• Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript or JavaScript with the ability to ramp up quickly
