As a Lead DevOps Engineer based in Pune, you will split your time between hands-on technical contribution and team leadership. A typical day involves designing and operating secure AWS environments, building CI/CD pipelines, managing Kubernetes workloads, automating infrastructure using Terraform, and troubleshooting production reliability issues. Alongside these engineering tasks, you will mentor platform engineers, establish architectural standards, collaborate with stakeholders, and champion robust DevSecOps and SRE practices across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments primarily on AWS.
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and implement GitOps practices.
- Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Operate containerised workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS.
- Lead, mentor, and develop DevOps, cloud, and platform engineers.
- Establish engineering standards for cloud architecture, security, and automation.
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and continuous service improvement.
Requirements
- At least 8+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or SRE.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring, or managing engineers.
- Strong hands-on expertise in AWS production architecture and operations.
- Strong experience with CI/CD platforms like GitLab CI, Argo CD, or Jenkins.
- Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Practical production experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Good to have
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.
- Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS.
- Experience operating hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
- Familiarity with service meshes, policy-as-code, FinOps, or cost-optimisation practices.
