About this job
As a Manager of Industry Solutions in the ISV Practice at MongoDB, you will lead a team of Forward Deployed Engineers who collaborate directly with independent software vendors and their engineering teams. MongoDB provides a unified, globally distributed data platform designed to help organizations modernize legacy systems, build data-intensive applications, and embrace cloud-native innovation. In this hybrid role based in Gurugram, your team will build MongoDB capabilities directly into partner products and convert successful projects into reusable patterns for future engagements. A normal day involves leading team priorities, managing performance, guiding the delivery of production-oriented solutions, and coordinating cross-functional execution with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, hire, and retain a team of Forward Deployed Engineers.
- Set priorities and allocate capacity across multiple partner engagements.
- Establish a repeatable engagement model from qualification to handoff.
- Guide the team in building production MongoDB integrations and migration approaches.
- Ensure engagements produce reusable architectures and documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams and partner stakeholders on scope and delivery.
- Engage directly with strategic partners for senior technical involvement.
- Measure team impact through adoption, production outcomes, and reusable assets.
Requirements
- Strong people-leadership skills including coaching and performance management.
- 10+ years of experience in software, systems, platform, product, or solutions engineering.
- Experience managing senior engineers and delivering complex technical initiatives.
- Technical understanding of production software, distributed systems, and data platforms.
- Experience working directly with ISVs, partners, customers, or external engineering teams.
- Experience building reusable engineering capabilities or reference implementations.
- Willingness to travel for partner engagements and key team activities.
Good to have
- Experience in partner engineering, embedded software, or technical consulting.
- Experience with database modernization, AI/ML workloads, or distributed systems.
