As a Principal Software Engineer I in Pune, you will develop high-quality, innovative software solutions using Golang or Python, Kafka, and PostgreSQL. The team is dedicated to building tools that help partners manage their businesses, automate service delivery, and enhance customer experiences. A normal day in this role involves designing, building, and maintaining large-scale production services, web applications, and data pipelines. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, research and document findings, debug critical production issues across the technology stack, and participate in test reviews. Additionally, you may coach and review the work of other team members, evaluate code for industry standards compliance, and help improve organizational engineering processes while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain large-scale production services, web applications, data pipelines, and streaming systems
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver software designs, code, and tests in a timely manner
• Debug production issues across multiple services and levels of the stack
• Research, analyze, and document technical findings
• Participate in the testing process through test review, analysis, witnessing, and software certification
• Evaluate code to ensure validity, proper structure, and alignment with industry standards
• Coach and review the work of other team members when required

Requirements

• Hands-on exposure to Golang or Python
• Exposure to Kafka and PostgreSQL
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent business experience
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Ability to manage projects and processes independently with limited supervision
• Strong knowledge of programming languages, software basics, and relevant development tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with strong organization and time-management abilities

Good to have

• Experience with continuing education and participating in professional conferences, workshops, or groups
• Familiarity with improving organizational engineering standards, tooling, and processes
