As a Software Engineer specializing in Developer Experience at Notion in Hyderabad, you will join a team united by the mission to make engineers work quickly, easily, comfortably, and safely. You will work across a broad scope that includes AI experiences, remote and local dev environments, builds, CI, testing, and deployments. A normal day involves turning ambiguous goals into shippable projects, building AI harnesses to auto-resolve app bugs, improving CI and build reliability, and collaborating closely with a distributed engineering team across the US and India. You will partner with colleagues to boost developer satisfaction, optimize internal developer tools like the Notion CLI and TypeScript language server, and help shape the future of software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build an AI harness to auto-resolve bugs reported for the Notion app.
• Improve continuous integration and build reliability to ensure fast feedback for developers.
• Enhance developer features for in-house, AI-first remote development environments.
• Execute a shared roadmap with the US engineering team to increase developer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with company-wide engineers using tools like the TypeScript language server and Notion CLI.
• Define guardrails, add testing, and iterate on AI agents based on real workflow feedback.

Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience with strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to create technical roadmaps and plan and execute very large projects.
• Experience building or operating developer tooling like CI/CD and infrastructure workflows.
• Comfort creating with AI agents and agentic workflows, including defining guardrails and verification loops.
• Strong systems-level debugging and performance thinking skills.
• Demonstrated strong ownership, accountability, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Good to have

• Some knowledge about building AI harnesses, tool building, and context harnesses.
