As a Software Engineer in Infrastructure on the Hyderabad Infra team, you will help build and maintain Notion's internal async task runner and configuration management platform. These core systems ensure millions of users enjoy a fast, reliable, and secure experience while enabling product and infrastructure engineers to manage configurations safely. On a normal day, you will contribute to the evolution of the async task runner, evaluate new technologies with guidance from senior team members, debug live production systems, and participate in an on-call rotation to handle incidents and maintain service reliability. You will also collaborate closely with product engineers and other infrastructure teams to align platforms with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the evolution and maintenance of the async task runner for global users
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to keep systems reliable and scalable with senior guidance
• Debug live production systems with minimal disruption and handle failovers
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to incidents and restore operations
• Partner with product and infrastructure teams to align platforms with business needs
• Grow skills in distributed systems while helping engineers build features confidently

Requirements

• At least 4 years of software development experience in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of distributed systems and trade-offs like consistency, latency, and scalability
• Pragmatic problem-solving skills prioritizing business impact, craft, speed, and maintainability
• Ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems with a bias toward action and results
• Customer empathy and strong cross-functional collaboration skills to support engineers
• Curiosity and willingness to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results
