Welcome to RojgarPoint. Anyscale is hiring a Software Engineer for the Ray Core team in Bengaluru. Anyscale is on a mission to democratize distributed computing, commercializing Ray, an open-source project that powers scalable machine learning for major companies like OpenAI, Uber, and Spotify. The Ray Core team develops and maintains the Ray C++ backend, focusing on the distributed scheduler, language runtime integration, and memory subsystems. In this role, you will help ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of Ray. A normal day in this position involves creating new features and distributed libraries, working on stability and stress testing infrastructure, improving fault tolerance, debugging issues, and planning longer-term architectural improvements. You will also have the opportunity to share your work through talks, tutorials, and blog posts, contributing directly to an ecosystem that simplifies distributed programming for developers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality open-source software for Ray to simplify distributed programming
• Identify, implement, and evaluate architectural improvements to Ray core
• Improve the testing process for Ray to ensure smooth releases
• Communicate your work to a broader audience through talks, tutorials, and blog posts
• Contribute to the Ray C++ backend including distributed schedulers and memory subsystems

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience
• Solid background in algorithms, data structures, and system design
• Experience in building scalable and fault-tolerant distributed systems
• Systems software experience and interest in contributing to the Ray backend

Good to have

• Knowledge of distributed model training and inference such as tensor parallel and pipeline parallel
• Knowledge of GPU programming
