As a Data Platform Administrator at WEKA in Bengaluru, you will manage and operate the WEKA deployment for AI Hyperscaler customers, ensuring their cloud infrastructure runs seamlessly for AI model training, inference, and compute-intensive workloads. WEKA builds an AI-native software solution that transforms legacy data silos into high-performance pipelines. In a normal day, you will monitor system health, configure file systems and quotas, handle upgrades, execute approved changes, and collaborate with customer platform teams. You will also tune storage infrastructure for specific workloads, build operational runbooks, automate repetitive tasks using Python, Bash, or Ansible, and manage escalations efficiently in this hybrid role.

Responsibilities

• Run the WEKA environment day to day including monitoring, health checks, upgrades, capacity planning, and configuration audits.
• Create and manage file systems, object storage tiering, snapshots, quotas, and protocol configurations like POSIX, NFS, SMB, and S3.
• Tune WEKA storage to fit customer workloads such as training, inference, checkpointing, and data loading.
• Build and maintain comprehensive customer operating runbooks, recovery steps, and deployment documentation.
• Turn repeated manual work into scripts, automation, or checklists using Python, Bash, and Ansible.
• Manage escalations, open and update support cases, and work closely with Technical Services, GRE, and R&D teams.
• Establish performance baselines, run benchmarks, and find scaling limits before customers encounter them.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience administering enterprise infrastructure at scale with strong storage experience in file, object, or block storage.
• Deep Linux administration skills including RHEL-family and Ubuntu in distributed environments.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed networking including Ethernet, InfiniBand, RDMA, DNS, ACLs, and TCP/IP.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, persistent storage, CSI, and operators.
• Experience operating GPU, HPC, or large cloud infrastructure for external customers or multiple tenants.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Ansible for task automation.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting stacks like Prometheus and Grafana, and ticketing systems like Jira.

Good to have

• Prior experience with WEKA or another parallel or distributed file system.
• Experience running Slurm or Kubernetes-based AI/ML platforms.
• Experience with NVIDIA GPU cluster networking and DGX-class systems.
• Experience collaborating between support and product or engineering teams.
• Familiarity with Confluence, Slack, and other collaboration tools.
