Deputy General Manager - Product Analyst Lead

Paytm is hiring a Deputy General Manager - Product Analyst Lead for its UPI team in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. In this role, you will manage the data and insights charter that guides product, growth, and platform decisions for Paytm's widely used UPI payment flows. The work bridges consumer behavior, financial systems, and large-scale data platforms. A typical day involves building analytical frameworks, investigating payment funnels, designing experimentation setups, and collaborating closely with product, engineering, data science, and business teams to transform transaction data into actionable strategies that impact millions of users across India.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end analytics charter for UPI surfaces including metric definitions and insights
• Diagnose friction points across the UPI journey using deep-dive analysis and cohort studies
• Monitor platform reliability by defining SLA, success-rate, and latency benchmarks
• Design, power, and evaluate A/B tests across the UPI funnel using robust methodologies
• Lead and mentor a team of analysts while setting priorities and reviewing outputs
• Partner with NPCI-mandated reporting requirements to align with regulatory standards

Requirements

• 7 to 9 years of analytics or data experience focused on consumer-facing products or fintech
• Strong command of SQL and hands-on experience with product analytics tools
• Working knowledge of Python or R for deeper statistical analysis
• Solid grounding in experimentation design and interpreting A/B test results
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured recommendations
• Experience building and owning dashboards and metrics frameworks at scale
• Experience managing or mentoring a team of analysts

Good to have

• Prior experience working in a UPI-regulated environment or with NPCI data constructs
• Exposure to large-scale transaction data systems and data warehousing concepts
• Experience with growth, lifecycle, or CRM-driven analytics
• Familiarity with fraud or risk analytics in a payments context
