Redwood Software is scaling its public cloud infrastructure and AI features across multiple product lines and is looking for a FinOps Lead in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. This senior individual-contributor role focuses on bringing rigor, visibility, and accountability to public cloud and AI spend. The chosen candidate will own the translation of raw cloud and AI cost data into models, forecasts, and governance mechanisms to help engineering, product, and executive leadership make informed decisions. A normal day involves building cost attribution infrastructure, partnering with engineering and finance teams to identify optimization opportunities, forecasting AI and cloud expenses, participating in architecture reviews, and ensuring proper tagging governance and hygiene across various product lines and environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve cost models attributing public cloud spend by product line, team, and environment.
• Drive tagging governance, audit compliance, and close attribution gaps for accurate reporting.
• Forecast cloud and AI/LLM API spend against budget and maintain forecast accuracy over time.
• Partner with Cloud Engineering to design spend management programs and participate in architecture reviews.
• Prepare ad hoc financial and cost analysis for planning cycles, budget reviews, and executive requests.
• Track and report on discount utilization such as Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, or a related financial/technical analyst role.
• Experience building a cost attribution model completely from scratch.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM cost drivers, token-based pricing, and architectural levers impacting spend.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI tools for automating repetitive data analysis and reporting tasks.
• Hands-on experience with cloud cost tools including AWS Cost Explorer.
• Working SQL proficiency to independently query and reconcile cost data.
• High proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for financial modeling and building presentations.

Good to have

• Experience building financial models for variable-cost services like cloud API usage and token-based pricing.
• Basic infrastructure literacy regarding compute, storage, networking, and containerized environments.
• Experience working in multi-product or multi-business-unit environments with complex cost attribution challenges.
• Exposure to PE-backed or investor-scrutinized environments focused on financial defensibility of technical spend.
