As a Workday Security Administrator in our Hyderabad office, you will join our IT function to support the security architecture of our Workday Financials and HCM tenants. Your core mission involves designing, configuring, maintaining, and auditing Workday security groups, domain and business process policies, and role-based access across the platform. A normal day in this role involves partnering closely with US-based Finance and HR stakeholders during an Eastern time zone shift (6:30 PM to 3:30 AM IST). You will build and maintain security groups, resolve security-related support tickets, analyze segregation of duties conflicts, manage change requests, administer integration security, and handle SOX and internal audit requests. You will also oversee Workday biannual releases and maintain audit-ready documentation to ensure smooth, secure, and compliant operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Workday security groups and domain or business process security policies across HCM and Financials.
• Own segregation of duties conflict analysis, access recertification, and remediation with Finance and HR process owners.
• Act as the primary point of contact for SOX and internal audit requests by providing configuration evidence and change history.
• Partner with Finance and HR stakeholders to translate access and workflow needs into secure, compliant configurations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve security-related tickets, access issues, and routing errors within SLA.
• Manage security change requests and evaluate new features during Workday biannual releases.
• Maintain up-to-date security configuration documentation, matrices, and change logs.
• Administer integration security including ISU accounts, integration security groups, and API access scoping.

Requirements

• 5 to 7+ years of hands-on Workday security administration experience.
• Working knowledge of both Workday HCM and Financials security models.
• Experience supporting SOX-controlled environments and audit evidence requests.
• Experience with Workday EIB, integrations, and report or calculated field security implications.
• Strong understanding of segregation of duties principles for finance and HR processes.
• Ability to work core hours aligned to 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST (6:30 PM to 3:30 AM IST) in Hyderabad.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Good to have

• Workday Pro Security certification.
• Experience with Workday Financials security specifically.
• Prior experience in a global shared-services or IT security operations function.
• Exposure to identity governance tools or IAM integration with Workday.
• Experience supporting agentic AI or automation initiatives layered on Workday.
